Litigation Coding

Often the key to winning a legal case rests on a single fact. The challenge is finding that fact quickly from mountains of data. Our Litigation Coding services help you prepare for discovery and trial by organizing all relevant documents into a searchable database. You now have the ability to pinpoint the information you need from thousands—even millions—of pages of e-mails, faxes, letters, memos, contracts, depositions and more. All at a moment's notice.

Quality Control To Ensure Accuracy

We begin each litigation coding assignment by developing with you a case-driven coding manual that incorporates your strategies, issues and criteria. During this preparation phase, we'll analyze the content to determine a coding plan that allows for optimal information retrieval.

In addition, we’ll train and test our coders to ensure they understand your case-specific parameters. We use detailed quality control procedures to ensure a superior level of quality and accuracy. Our quality control procedures include:

  • Job tracking software that ensures the receipt, processing and output of each batch of work.
  • Continuous monitoring of work and on-demand status reports.
  • Customized spell-checking and data verification.
  • Project-specific edits and validation tables.

We offer two levels of Litigation Coding:

Basic Coding

Includes logical unitized documents and bibliographic information such as: \

  • Bates numbers
  • Attachment ranges
  • Authors
  • Recipients and copied recipients
  • Document types, titles and attributes

Advanced Coding

Includes bibliographic information and relevant data extrapolated from the document body such as:

  • Names and organizations in text
  • Key words and terms
  • Marginalia
  • Enhanced and created titles

Whichever Litigation Coding level you choose, we will ensure that all case-specific criteria are included in the coding manual we develop with you at the beginning of the project.
