Elmsford, New York – April 1, 2014 – Digiscribe International and Digiscribe New England, providers of document scanning services, document management solutions and workflow automation software throughout New York and New England today announces that the entire staff has received certificates of achievement for HIPAA compliance training. This training helps ensure that all health-related information on any document, including medical records, is handled in accordance with HIPAA privacy rules while at any Digiscribe facility.
Privacy regulations of HIPAA – the 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act – require that healthcare providers and organizations, as well as their business partners, develop and follow procedures that ensure the confidentiality and security of protected health information (PHI) – when it is created, transferred, received, handled or shared.
Business partners, including document scanning companies, must provide proof of a formal and documented training program regarding how to handle PHI in a private, secure and confidential way while in their care. HIPAA compliance training meets this federal requirement.
“Combined with our SOC 2 Type 2 report, having all of our employees HIPAA compliance certified trained shows our dedication to providing excellence in service, quality and security. We have the documentation in place and follow the controls necessary to securely and confidentially handle our clients’ documents and data while in our facilities,” said Mitch Taube, President of Digiscribe and Digiscribe New England.
