The Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) has designated November 4, 2016 as World Paper Free Day! From 10 a.m. to 12 noon, they’ll be hosting a virtual meeting for the AIIM Community that will focus on working smarter, improving processes with automation and decreasing paper entry points. Community members will share tips and tricks for transforming their offices and companies into a paper-free environment.

Going paperless improves business processes while also strengthening a company’s bottom line. As businesses go forward into a greener, more sustainable future, getting rid of paper will become an essential component to the best practices of any successful business. It makes companies more efficient and better able to deal with the rapid pace of modern business, while also lowering costs and improving long-term financial flexibility.

If you’re not sure how your company might benefit from going paperless, join us on November 4th to find out what World Paper Free Day is all about. Register now to stay informed.

The Number of Paperless Offices Is Growing, But Slowly

Given the importance many corporations claim to place on green initiatives, you might think the business community wouldn’t need something like World Paper Free Day. Unfortunately, for all the lip service business leaders pay to sustainable processes, studies have shown they still have a long way to go as far as implementation is concerned. Last year’s AIIM Paper-Free Industry Study bears that out.

Even if we can all agree that going paperless is in the best interests of both businesses and the environment, only 17% of respondents in this study said they worked in a truly paper-free office. Now, nearly 1 in 5 (16%) companies said they were actively trying to eliminate paper from their processes, so the will is there. However, the knowledge base may be weaker than expected, as 39% of respondents felt there was simply a lack of understanding about paper-free options.

Fixing that last part is what World Paper Free Day is all about!
