In 1988, Mitch Taube and Ellen Rothschild started their first company, International Data Services (IDS), in Ellen’s parents’ home. IDS specialized in low cost, high quality offshore data entry and indexing before anyone knew what offshore meant. At the time, there were no document scanners, so documents were converted to microfilm for indexing or data was keyed directly from paper. Microfilm scanning companies, law firms, and businesses around the country came to rely on IDS for their data entry and indexing expertise.
In 1997, IDS became part of a larger public company in the information technology field, with Mitch serving on the Board of Directors and as National Sales Director and Ellen serving as Marketing Director. Shortly afterwards, Mitch and Ellen realized they really wanted to run their own business again. In 2001, Digiscribe was born.
Digiscribe was built on the data entry backbone IDS was known for and has evolved based on the changing needs of the market. Services now include document scanning, cloud-based and in-house document management software, workflow automation software, digital mailroom and PO Box scanning services, and e-forms. Digiscribe serves the entire Northeast with offices located outside of New York City and Boston with a team of dedicated employees.
