In doing so, Digiscribe has become one of the first SOC (Service Organization Control) 2 Type 2 document scanning providers in the New York tri-state area.
This report is given based upon an objective audit by an independent CPA of a service organization’s controls that are documented, implemented and audited across systems and processes in one or more of five trust principles. The management of the service company decides which principles will be tested that are most relevant to their business. Digiscribe’s SOC 2 Type 2 reports on the company’s written, implemented and audited controls for the following principles:
- Security: the system is protected against unauthorized access (both physical and logical)
- Confidentiality: information designated as confidential is protected as committed or agreed
- Availability: the system is available for operation and use as committed or agreed
The SOC 2 report is a true audit—service organizations have specific criteria to meet and the auditor’s then must assure that those criteria have been met. During the examination, the auditor tests individual controls and the final report indicates which controls were tested and the results of those tests.
