Elmsford, NY – August 28, 2012 – Digiscribe International, provider of medical record scanning services, document management solutions and workflow automation software throughout the New York Metro area today announces that they have saved a New York cardiologist group approximately $180,000 annually by scanning over one million medical files. These digitized patient records are now available electronically so that each physician can access patient history quickly and easily without having to search through paper medical files.

This cardiologist practice consists of multiple doctors in New York City. Like many other medical offices, they were awash with paper in the form of patient charts and medical records. This information was stored in a large onsite storage room. When they suddenly lost access to this space, they were faced with two choices—and they had to choose fast: move these records to expensive, inconvenient off-site storage or scan their documents. After speaking with Digiscribe, the choice was clear.

Digiscribe immediately arranged for the hundreds of boxes to be sent to their document scanning facility, prepped  and scanned over 1 million pages of medical files . Each page was converted to a PDF, three fields were indexed and all document images were reviewed to ensure the highest image quality and legibility—critical for patient care.
