Elmsford, New York – April 7, 2008 – Digiscribe, a Westchester-based document management company, is launching Scan & Save to do its part in preserving the environment. The company will donate $20 to The Nature Conservancy for every 20,000 sheets of paper (the average contents of a four-drawer filing cabinet) it scans through the end of this year.
A 2004 Coopers & Lybrand study revealed that a one-page business document is copied 19 times on average. The study also noted that paper document usage is growing at a rate of 22% annually. By scanning documents, businesses can reduce operating costs, regain space and increase efficiency while benefiting the environment.
Designed to provide businesses with a painless way to go paperless, Digiscribe offers affordable document management solutions for businesses of any size, in any industry. The company’s newest service, Docuvation, offers a secure, online, document repository and is ideal for small to mid-sized businesses.
A 2007 Cone Consumer Environmental Survey revealed 93 percent of Americans believe companies have a responsibility to help preserve the environment. Supporting The Nature Conservancy is an extension of Digiscribe’s environmentally-friendly business services.
“By donating to The Nature Conservancy we are able to benefit the environment by doing more than decreasing paper usage in our clients’ offices,” said Mitch Taube, CEO of Digiscribe. “Additionally, our clients can feel good about the donation we will make through our Scan & Save program.”
The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. Information on The Nature Conservancy’s conservation and preservation efforts across the U.S. is available through nature.org.
